  • 14% report broad production use, slightly ahead of the survey average (12%) and well ahead of financial services (3%)
  • Only 19% rank MCP adoption as a top-5 priority, the lowest of the three industries surveyed
  • Data specialists are driving adoption: 71% of respondents point to data analysts/scientists as primary users, followed by software developers (62%)
  • Top use cases: supply chain visibility and logistics (57%), pricing optimization and competitive analysis (42%), customer data integration across touchpoints (39%)
  • Unlike financial services and software, where security was the primary obstacle to MCP adoption, retail’s #1 blocker is data quality and availability (56%)
  • Retail shows the strongest open-source lean of any industry surveyed: 41% strong preference for open source platforms, and 67% are building in-house on open source
